NURSERY ADMISSIONS

If your child is between 3 and 4 years old and you would like to register them for a place at our brand new nursery please contact the school office on 0121 594 0898 or email enquiry@northfieldmanoracademy.org.uk

From January 2027 we will be accepting 2-3 year olds if you are entitled to funding. For more information contact the office

RECEPTION CLASS

Places are offered for Reception class by the Local Authority.

Children in Birmingham can start school (Reception) in the September after their 4th birthday. Parents can apply for a place in the autumn of the year before their child turns four-years-old.

Open Days at our school are arranged each October/November to enable prospective Reception children and their parents to visit the school. You will be able to book a place for our open events or activities by completing the pop-up form (which will become available on the website in September) or by contacting the school on 0121 594 0898.

Applications usually open mid-September and close mid-January.

National Offer Day is around 16th April.

Deferred Entry

If you wish to defer your child’s start, you must:

1. Apply for the normal age group in the usual admissions round; and

2. Request deferred entry from Birmingham City Council, including any supporting evidence.

IN-YEAR SCHOOL ADMISSIONS

If you would like your child to join Northfield Manor Primary Academy from another school, you will need to get an in-year transfer form from your child’s current school to complete and ask the head teacher to sign and date. Once completed bring to the Northfield Manor Academy school office with proof of address and your child’s passport or birth certificate.

If we have a place available, we will then contact you to organise an induction and get your child started!

If we do not have any places in the year you are applying for, your child will be added to the waiting list. When a place becomes available, places are offered on the following criteria, siblings then distance. Places on the waiting list can also change if somebody else joins the waiting list with different criteria.

Oversubscription Criteria

If we do not have any places in the year you are applying for (including nursery), your child will be added to the waiting list. When a place becomes available, places are offered on the following criteria:

Priority Order	Criteria Description
1	Children who are Looked After or Previously Looked After by a Local Authority.
2	Children with exceptional medical or social needs, supported by professional evidence.
3	Children with a sibling already attending Northfield Manor at the time of admission.
4	Children who live closest to the school, measured in a straight line from the home address to the school.

Places on the waiting list can also change if somebody else joins the waiting list with different criteria.

Published Admission Number (PAN)

We are a two-form entry school, with 30 places per class.

Total PAN = 420 pupils.
